450SX Class: Indianapolis Stats

The first 450SX Class race held in Indianapolis was on March 21, 1992. Jeff Stanton won on a Honda.

The 2015 450SX Class race in Indianapolis marks the 600th 450SX Class points-paying race of all-time.

Indianapolis also hosted the 300th 450SX Class race of all-time on February 15, 1997. Jeff Emig won on a Kawasaki.

This will be the 24th time the gate will drop for a 450SX Class race in Indianapolis.

There has not been a first-time winner in Indianapolis.

From 1992-2008, the Indianapolis supercross was held at the RCA Dome. Since 2009 it has been held at Lucas Oil Stadium. There were 17 450SX Class races held at the RCA Dome and this will be the seventh 450SX Class race at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Chad Reed won the last race at the RCA Dome in '08 and the first race at Lucas Oil Stadium in '09.

Indiana native Mike LaRocco won his last 450SX Class race in 2004 in Indianapolis on a Honda.

LaRocco won his first-ever 450SX Class race in 1991. It was 14 seasons between his first 450SX Class win and his last 450SX Class win.

From 1993-1996, Jeremy McGrath won four consecutive 450SX Class races in Indianapolis and has the most 450SX Class wins in Indianapolis with six.

Ricky Carmichael was the second rider to win back-to-back races in Indianapolis from '05-'06, and finished with four 450SX Class victories in Indianapolis. Reed also won back-to-back 450SX Class races in '08 and '09, right before Ryan Villopoto won four straight races in Indianapolis from '11-'13.

Can Ryan Dungey become the fifth rider to win Indianapolis back-to-back in the 450SX Class?

Carmichael won the 450SX Class race in Indianapolis on three different brands: Kawasaki, Honda, and Suzuki.

After winning the first-five 450SX Class races held in Indianapolis, Honda hasn't won Indy since LaRocco in 2004.

Honda and Yamaha both have not won at Lucas Oil Stadium. Kawasaki has won four of the six 450SX Class races held in Lucas Oil Stadium.

Dungey gave KTM their first 450SX Class win in Indianapolis last season.

With his victory in Indianapolis last season, Dungey joined Ezra Lusk, Carmichael, and Reed as riders to win the Indianapolis supercross in both the 250SX and 450SX Classes. Trey Canard and Davi Millsaps could join this group with a 450SX Class Indy win, as they both have 250SX Class victories in Indy already.

In 17 of 23 races, the winner of the 450SX Class in Indianapolis went on to win the 450SX Class Championship.

450SX Class: Wins By Brand in Indianapolis (Last Win)

Honda: 8 (2004)
Kawasaki: 7 (2013)
Yamaha: 4 (2008)
Suzuki: 3 (2009)
KTM: 1 (2014)

450SX Class: Daytona Recap

Dungey earned his 18th career 450SX Class victory in Daytona, tying him for 10th place on the all-time 450SX Class win list with Kevin Windham. It was KTM's 13th 450SX Class win.

Dungey also earned his 66th career 450SX Class podium. He is now tied with Jeff Ward for seventh on the all-time 450SX Class podium list. He now has nine-consecutive 450SX Class podium finishes.

Dungey became the first back-to-back winner of the season. This season marks the second longest streak without having a back-to-back winner in 450SX Class history. There have only been two seasons where there was not a back-to-back winner.

For the third time in his 450SX Class career, Dungey has won four races in a season.

Can Dungey win three races in-a-row for the first-time in his 450SX Class career?

For just the ninth time in Daytona supercross history, the same brand won the 250SX and 450SX Class races. It was KTM's first Daytona sweep and third sweep of the season.

Eli Tomac finished second place in Daytona. It was his seventh career 450SX Class podium and for the second time in his 450SX Class career, he earned back-to-back podiums.

Can Tomac earn three consecutive 450SX Class podiums for the first time in his career?

Blake Baggett earned his first-career 450SX Class podium with a third-place finish. After finishing outside of the top-10 in the first two races of the season, Baggett has earned eight-straight top-10 finishes and two straight top-five finishes.

Can Baggett back up his career-best third-place finish with another podium?

Cole Seely finished fourth in Daytona for his fourth top-five finish of the season. Seely now has five career 450SX Class top-five finishes in 21 career 450SX Class starts.

Reed made his 180th career 450SX Class start in Daytona and earned his 147th career 450SX Class top-five finish with a fifth place finish. He is now alone in first place on the all-time 450SX Class top-five list. He now has nine career 450SX Class top-five finishes in Daytona.

Reed is tied with Jason Anderson for fifth in the championship standings. They are 19 points behind Tomac in third.

Canard earned a sixth place finish in Daytona and broke his six race top-five streak. It was his ninth top-10 finish of the season.

Can Canard gain any ground on Dungey's commanding points lead? Honda is due for a win in Indianapolis, since the other four major brands have all won Indy the past four seasons.

Anderson rode to his 10th top-10 finish of the season with a seventh-place finish. He has finished inside the top-seven six times this season. Anderson and Dungey are the only riders to have a top-10 finish in all 10 450SX Class races this season.

Five points separate 450SX Class riders Reed, Anderson, Seely, and Baggett, who are in fifth (two-way tie), seventh and eighth, respectively, in overall point standings.

Weston Peick finished in eighth-place in Daytona; it was his fifth top-10 finish of the season and third top-10 finish in-a-row.

Millsaps finished ninth-place in Daytona. It was his fourth top-10 finish of the season and 91st career 450SX Class top-10 finish. This marked his first top-10 finish since Oakland.

Broc Tickle earned a 10th-place finish in Daytona. It was his 32nd career top-10 finish in 51 career 450SX Class starts.

250SX Class: Indianapolis Stats

The first 250SX Class race held in Indianapolis was on March 21, 1992. Jimmy Button won the race on a Yamaha.

This will be the 24th time the gate will drop for a 250SX Class race in Indianapolis.

Canard won the last 250SX Class race in held at the RCA Dome in '08 and Austin Stroupe won the first 250SX Class race at Lucas Oil Stadium in '09.

There have only been two back-to-back winners in the 250SX Class in Indianapolis. Mickael Pichon won in '95 and '96 and Millsaps won in '05 and '06. They are also the only two riders with multiple 250SX Class wins in Indianapolis.

A different brand has won the Indianapolis 250SX Class race every season since '11. Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM, and Kawasaki all have a win in the 250SX Class in Indy since '11. Can Honda earn their first 250SX Class victory in Indianapolis since Canard in '08? They do not have a 250SX or 450SX Class victory in Lucas Oil Stadium.

The winner of the 250SX Class race in Indianapolis has gone on to win the 250SX Class championship only 12 times in 23 years. For the past four seasons, the winner of the 250SX Class race in Indy did not go on to win the championship. Only three times in the past 11 seasons has the winner of the 250SX Class race in Indy gone on to win the 250SX Class Championship.

Marvin Musquin gave KTM their first and only 250SX Class win in Indy in 2013.

There have been five riders to earn their first career 250SX Class victories in Indianapolis: Michael Brandes in '00, Reed in '02, Josh Hansen in '04, Millsaps in '05, and Ryan Sipes in '11.

Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki all have six 250SX Class victories in Indianapolis. In the six 250SX Class races held in Lucas Oil Stadium, Kawasaki has won three of them. Yamaha, Suzuki, and KTM all have a single 250SX Class win in Lucas Oil Stadium.

250SX Class: Wins by Brand (Last Win)
Yamaha: 6 (2011)
Suzuki: 6 (2012)
Kawasaki: 6 (2014)
Honda: 4 (2008)
KTM: 1 (2013)

250SX Class: Daytona Recap

Musquin earned his seventh career 250SX Class victory with his win in Daytona. He now has 15 career 250SX Class podiums in his 23 career 250SX Class starts.

Musquin's seven career 250SX Class victories ties him with Grant Langston, Millsaps, Stephane Roncada, John Dowd, Lusk, Doug Henry, Canard, and Hansen on the all-time 250SX Class win list.

Musquin has now won three of the first four Eastern Regional 250SX Class races and has a podium in all four races.

Can Musquin continue his impressive start to the season and expand on his 12-point lead in the championship standings?

Justin Bogle rode to his fourth podium of the season with his second runner-up finish. Musquin and Bogle are the only two riders to have podiums in all four Eastern Regional 250SX Class races.

Bogle is only one point behind Jeremy Martin for second in the championship standings. Can he breakthrough for his first win of the season and surpass Martin? He is only 13 points behind from Musquin.

With his third-place finish in Daytona, Martin earned his third consecutive podium. Martin now has 16 career 250SX Class starts, including 13 top-10 finishes, 11 top-five finishes, and six podiums finishes.

For three consecutive Eastern Regional 250SX Class races, the podium has featured the same three riders: Musquin, Bogle, and Martin.

Joey Savatgy earned his fourth consecutive and fourth career 250SX Class top-five finish with a fourth place in Daytona. He now has 10 top-10 finishes in 12 career 250SX Class starts.

Mitch Payton's Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team has yet to win a 250SX Class race this season.

Savatgy stands with Musquin, Bogle, and Martin as the only riders to have a top-five finish in each Eastern Regional 250SX Class race. He is also the only other rider to have a podium finish on the season other than Musquin, Bogle, and Martin.

RJ Hampshire enjoyed the best finish of his career, finishing fifth. He has finished within the top-10 at every race this year.

Jimmy Decotis finished in sixth place and now has 19career 250SX Class top-10 finishes. In his 32 250SX Class starts, he has two consecutive top-six finishes.

Kyle Peters earned a season-best seventh place finish in Daytona. He now has eight career 250SX Class top-10 finishes in 21 career 250SX Class starts. It was his second top-10 finish of the season and first since his 10th place finish in the Eastern Regional 250SX Class opener.

Anthony Rodriguez finished in eighth place for the third straight weekend. He now has three top-10 finishes for the first time in his 250SX Class career.

In his 18th career 250SX Class start, Mitchell Oldenburg finished in ninth place, marking the sixth top-10 finish of his career.
