RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s/Suzuki Factory Racing’s Broc Tickle will miss Round 5 of Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship, this Saturday in Anaheim due to a back injury sustained last weekend in Oakland. Tickle, who cased the same triple as teammate Ken Roczen, was released from Sutter Eden Medical Center last weekend and was cleared to travel with the team. After consulting with his physican earlier this week, Tickle has decided to sit out this weekend.
“I’m disappointed that I’ll miss this weekend but, given my recent experience with back injuries, I’ve learned to take the doctor’s advice,” explained Tickle in a team statement. “I don’t want turn a one-race injury into something bigger. It should be a pretty quick recovery and I can still do everything training-wise, except for riding. I need to stay off the bike for five to seven days. After that, I should be ready to go for San Diego in two weeks.”
Tickle has two top tens through four rounds, including a season-high fifth at Anaheim 2.
