  • Zions Bank Named Title Sponsor of Utah National

TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH — Miller Motorsports Park announced today that Zions Bank has been named as the title sponsor for the Utah National, the season finale for the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series, which will take place on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The nationally televised Zions Bank Utah National will be the biggest event of the year at Miller Motorsports Park, featuring the best motocross racers in the world. The field includes Ryan Dungey, James Stewart, Chad Reed and Ken Roczen, who are back competing in Utah for the second consecutive year. As the season finale, all of the top teams and riders will be scrambling for last-chance championship points and glory on the series’ most unique track, located in the infield of the state-of-the-art Miller Motorsports Park facility.

“We are thrilled to welcome Zions Bank as the title sponsor of the Zions Bank Utah National,” said John Larson, General Manager of Miller Motorsports Park. “Zions Bank has been an extremely important partner since the track opened in 2006 as well as a long-standing partner of Miller Sports Properties. Their support of this event, along with our other valued partners such as Lucas Oil and the Utah Sports Commission, will help ensure that this will be the most successful single-day event in our history.”

Last year’s Utah National marked the first professional outdoor motocross event to be held in Utah since 1973, attracting the largest single-day crowd in Miller Motorsports Park history with 21,500 attendees.

“Zions Bank is proud to be affiliated with Miller Motorsports Park and its hosting of this marquee event,” said Rob Brough, Zions Bank executive vice president of marketing and communications. “As the final race of the series, the Zions Bank Utah National will showcase the top athletes in one of the most exciting and fastest growing forms of motorsports. It will be a tremendous event for the community to enjoy.”

Zions Bank is Utah’s oldest financial institution and is the only local bank with a statewide distribution of financial centers, operating 101 full-service centers. Zions Bank also operates 26 full-service financial centers in Idaho. In addition to offering a wide range of traditional banking services, Zions Bank is also a leader in small business lending and has ranked as the No. 1 lender of U.S. Small Business Administration 7(a) loans in Utah for the past 20 consecutive years. Founded in 1873, Zions Bank has been serving the communities of Utah for more than 140 years. Additional information is available at www.zionsbank.com.

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship has existed since 1972, and the list of champions includes household names like Broc Glover, Jeff Ward, Ricky Johnson, Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Carmichael, Travis Pastrana, James Stewart, Chad Reed, Ryan Dungey and Ryan Villopoto. All the major motorcycle manufacturers, including Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki and KTM, are heavily involved in both the 250cc and 450cc classes and the pressure for the teams and riders to win races and capture the championship crown is immense. All Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship events are televised live on MAV TV and the NBC Sports Network.
