- The Tennessee National enters its second year on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross schedule.
- Last year, Muddy Creek Raceway held the first Pro Motocross National in the state of Tennessee since 1977. It was also the first Pro Motocross National in the Southeast region of the U.S. since 1997.
- Victory Sports, promoter of the Tennessee National, has been putting on amateur motocross events at Muddy Creek Raceway since 1986.
- The 2nd Annual Tennessee National marks the championship's network television debut this season on NBC, with live second moto coverage of the 450 Class.
- Ken Roczen is the only rider in this year's championship to finish atop the podium through the first eight motos.
- Roczen has an average moto finish of 1.75 through the first four rounds, compared to 2.63 for Dungey, 3.25 for Stewart, and 3.75 for Canard.
- Jeremy Martin and Blake Baggett have claimed every moto win and overall so far in the 250 Class.
- Reigning 250 Class Champion Eli Tomac will make his 450 Class Pro Motocross debut in Tennessee after missing the first part of the season due to injury.
