DMXS' 12th Anniversary Show Tonight
DMXS Radio’s 12th Anniversary Show with Carmichael, Windham, Johnson and Hepler Tonight!
What were you doing 12 years ago? The fledgling DMXS Radio show launched with a dial-up modem and two Wal-Mart microphones as the first live internet motocross program. All these years later we’re still core fans of the sport and love bench racing with our industry pals and longtime supporters and fans of the show. We thought we’d call a few friends that have been with us from the beginning to help celebrate a dozen years on the interweb airwaves.
Ricky Carmichael was recently inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and we were fortunate to cover nearly his entire amazing career. We watched him transition from his early struggles on the big bike in 2000 to the beginning of his reign that earned him the infamous and well-earned GOAT title. RC continues to give back to the sport that he loves through his amateur SX race in Daytona, RCU schools across the globe and his grassroots efforts in Arenacross to help riders transition to the big stage. We couldn’t think of a better guest on this milestone show and look forward to catching up with our southern brother.
I have tried to come to terms with Kevin Windham not lining up on the gate at Anaheim 1…and I have to be honest……it’s not going too well. KDub has battled the sport’s best throughout his career and has been part of some of the most epic races and championship battles we’ve ever seen. While we certainly understand his decision to hang up his boots, that doesn’t mean that his legion of fans won’t miss him rolling through the tunnel in a few weeks. We definitely wanted him on tonight since he’s been a guest on the show from our humble beginnings and still returns my calls for some reason!
Ricky Johnson has always been, and will always be a badass, or Bad Boy. The motocross legend has continued his rich racing heritage with a successful off-road truck career with multiple championships and no signs of slowing down. Our fans have thoroughly enjoyed his many appearances on the show for his candid and honest interviews void of any political correctness. He just had to be on the guest list tonight.
There is something to be said about Broc Hepler and his impact on our sport after he became the unfortunate face of concussions and their effects after his career was cut short. Fans still ask about him after all these years and I can honestly say that I’ve never met a more polite, humble rider than Broc. He comes from an awesome family and we loved visiting with them at the races. They were always welcoming, even after we couldn’t help ourselves and gave him the “Hamburger Hepler” nickname. It will be fun to catch up with one of Pennsylvania’s finest.
