Brayton, Musquin Headline Geneva SX
Press Release
Geneva, Switzerland — The 28th Annual Geneva Supercross fueled by Monster Energy, will take place on December 6–7 at the PalExpo in Geneva, and will feature an exclusive and impressive line up of celebrated supercross racers.
The Geneva SX, known as one of the best European SX’s with the largest track in Europe, will once again have a sell out crowd of 30,000 spectators. This year’s race will be a landmark with the outstanding list of visiting supercross racers. Topping the list are Justin Brayton and Marvin Musquin. Brayton has been the King of Geneva for the past three years in a row and will be going for his fourth crown with the help of his Joe Gibbs Racing Yamaha 450 YZF. Musquin, who was runner up last year in Geneva, will be making his only 2013 European appearance and he will race on his factory KTM 350.
To compete with those two champions, the Geneva SX will also have:
- Will Hahn, the current 250SX East Coast Supercross champion, will be racing the Geneva SX for the first time and will be on his GEICO Honda CRF 450.
- Tyler Bowers, the four-time Amsoil Arenacross Champion and the 2013 Las Vegas 250 Supercross winner, will have his debut in Geneva on his Pro Circuit 450 Kawasaki.
- Malcolm Stewart will make his first European appearance in Switzerland and will ride his Troy Lee Designs MAV TV Honda CRF 450.
- And last but not least, the winner of the 2012 New Orleans supercross, Darryn Durham. This will be Durham’s first foreign race on his Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki 250 KXF and this will be the first time in over 10 years that European supercross fans will be able to see a Pro Circuit rider on his factory bike.
Another Geneva exclusive will be the return of the Women’s Supercross class. This will be the fourth year that the women have been included in the event. Some of the best women indoor racers in the world will fiercely battle for the title. Australia’s Meghan Rutledge, the defending Queen of Geneva and the current Women’s Australian SX Champion will compete with current two-time World Champion Kiara Fontanesi of Italy, X Games Gold Medalist Vicki Golden of the USA, French Champion Justin Charroux, seven-time US Motocross Champion Jessica Patterson, WMX star Sayaka Kaneshiro from Japan, and X Games finalist Jackie Ives from the USA. Additionally, World and French Champion Livia Lancelot will be in Geneva and may race, pending a release by her doctor. Lancelot suffered a knee injury months back.
The FMX exhibition will be the icing on the cake with riders like current X Fighter Champion Thomas Pages, former Swiss X Fighter Champion Mat Rebeaud, along with Andre Villa, Drake McElroy, and many more top names.
