  • SCOTT Athletes Weekend Report

Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas played host to this weekend's stop of the Monster Energy Supercross tour. The massive crowd in attendance witnessed one SCOTT athlete's return to the podium and another athlete's career-best finish after landing a new ride with Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki.

450SX Class

After being forced to sit out the Toronto Supercross due to a concussion he sustained at the Indy SX, SCOTT athlete Trey Canard once again found the podium in Texas. Canard had the second fastest qualifying time, he won the first 450SX heat race, and went on to secure third overall in the 450SX main event. Trey's consistent night showed everyone that he was indeed back and ready to battle.

SCOTT goggle athlete Andrew Short nailed down another consistent top ten finish in Houston, finishing the 450SX main event in 7th overall.

Phil Nicoletti had to do some work to make the 450SX main event in Houston as he was forced to qualify the hard way: through the LCQ. Nicoletti didn't disappoint and went on to win the LCQ by a large margin. In the 450SX main event, Phil finished a respectable 12th overall.

SCOTT goggle athlete Adam Enticknap, a relative newcomer to Supercross, made his first 450SX main event of the year and finished a respectable 18th overall.

250SX East Coast Class

Earlier this week, Monster Energy Pro Circuit announced they had signed Tyler Bowers to its team to fill in for their injured rider Dean Wilson. Bowers, fresh off an Arenacross championship, was all too eager to prove he had what it takes to land such a prestigious ride. Tyler didn't disappoint and finished 2nd in his first 250SX heat race, qualifying him for the main event. In the main, Bowers worked through the field and found himself in 4th by the checkered flag. Bowers' 4th place marks his career best finish in the 250SX class. Welcome to the SCOTT goggle team Tyler!

SCOTT goggle athlete Levi Kilbarger had a great night in Houston. Levi qualified for the main with a 6th in the first 250SX heat race and then in the main event he went on to finish just outside the top 10 in 11th.

SCOTT athlete Ryan Zimmer made the 250SX main event via a win in the LCQ. In the main event he scored a respectable 15th overall.

Zack Freeberg managed to holeshot the main event but that would be the highlight of his night, as a crash left him unable to finish the race.  Zack was credited with 20th.

The Supercross series heads to Minneapolis, MN next weekend for round 14.

Charlie Mullins wins XC1 and Aaron Plessinger nabs a surprising win in XC2 at the Steele Creek GNCC

XC1

Charlie Mullins took a commanding win at the Steele Creek GNCC last weekend. The SCOTT goggle athlete survived the 3 hour race to take his first win at the event. Mullins now holds a five-point lead over Russell heading into Round 4 in South Carolina.

Charlie Mullins' teammate Kailub Russell battled for the lead for most of the race but eventually had to settle for 2nd. He later mentioned that he had been sick all week leading up to the event and was happy to finish on the box.

XC2

SCOTT amateur athlete Aaron Plessinger took a weekend off from racing amateur motocross and decided to race the GNCC series. It was a good call for the rookie as he challenged for the lead the entire race in the XC2 class and made a last lap pass to take the win. His win marks his second podium in as many tries. It appears that the seed doesn't fall far from the tree as Aaron's father, Scott Plessinger, is a decorated offroad/enduro rider himself.

SCOTT Athletes Sweep the ATV podium at the Steele Creek GNCC

SCOTT goggle athletes swept the pro ATV XC1 class at the Steele Creek GNCC last weekend. Athletes Chris Borich, Chris Bithell, and Adam McGill took all three podium spots after battling for over 3 hours in North Carolina.

Chris Borich has won 3 consecutive races. His last win at the Steele Creek GNCC extends his points lead to 26 over second.  Click here for the full story from GNCCRacing.com.  The next GNCC round is April 20-21 and will take place in Union, SC.
