Clubmx Freestone Report

Chesterfield, SC – After taking 5 National Championships and 11 overall podiums at the Oak Hill Spring National, 7 Club riders made their way to Freestone to contest the Freestone Spring Championship. After the week of racing, the 7 Club riders were able to record:
• 2 National Championships
• 9 Overall Podium Finishes
• 16 Overall Top 5 Finishes
Several of the top performing Club riders of the week included Cameron Cannon and Darian Sanayei who were able to bring home 2 championships. Cameron lead the way for Club’s mini bikes by winning the 85 (12-14) Class with 3-1 moto scores over a stacked field. Cannon continued his success all weekend by securing a pair of 2nd place overalls in the 85/150 (12-15) stock and mod classes, as well as a strong 3rd place overall in the 85 (12-14) Mod Class. Cameron now has his sights set on a title at Loretta Lynn’s.
Darian Sanayei was able to continue his winning ways at Oak Hill where he earned 3 National Championships by taking another overall championship and a 2nd place finishes at Freestone. His championship came in the 250 Amateur Open class while the 2nd place overall came in the Collegeboy 16-24 class. Darian also snagged a moto win in the 250B Stock class but could not contend for the overall due to some bad luck in the second moto. He plans on topping the B classes at Loretta Lynn’s in 2013. More strong finishes were also logged by Club rider Henry Miller, he took two 2nd place overall finishes in the 450B Mod and the 450 Amateur Open classes, respectively.
Shane McElrath and Jace Owen had their own individual struggles throughout the week, however both pushed through and were able take home many positive lessons from the week to build on moving forward. The Markolf brothers had a disappointing weekend to say the least, Will logged a 10th place overall in the 250B Mod class just before injuring his shoulder while brother Max suffered a concussion and was forced out of competition for the remainder of the week.
