Baggett, Wharton, Weimer, Whitmore, Vurb Moto on DMXS Radio Tonight
Pro Circuit’s Blake Baggett withstood the late season push from the deep 250 field to secure the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship 250 National Championship. BB held the lead throughout the season and rode an inspiring final round to seal the deal. We’ll catch up with the champ as he prepares for the MXdN.
Rockstar’s Blake Wharton had an inconsistent outdoor season after making some great strides in supercross this year, but the loveable Texan is never one to settle and will be ready in 2013. Blake has been one of our favorite interviews since the amateur days and never fails to deliver on the air.
Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer was in a tight chase for the last podium spot in the championship point’s battle that literally came down to the very last moto. Jake once again proved the doubters wrong with some great rides this summer and several podiums as he continues to make progress in the transition to the 450. We’ll get his perspective on the season, including the recently inked contract with his current team that will keep him green a few more years.
Sarah Whitmore is an accomplished racer and helped women’s motocross get to the next level during her career. She has recently competed in the WORCS series, WMA Nationals, Endurocross, X-Games and the GNCC circuit. Most recently, Sarah was honored by with her selection to represent the United States at the International Six Days Enduro in Germany. We’ve had the men’s team on several times and the cost to compete in this legendary race falls mostly on the rider. Sarah is definitely a great representative of the sport and we need to help out to get her to this race. Please go to her Facebook Fan Page for more information and to donate to this worthy race cause.
Mike Burgess from Team Sakai Racing and Chase Yocom are organizing support for Stone Elder, a young 15-year-old amateur motocross prospect that was just diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The cancer was discovered after being taken to the hospital after a crash preparing for Loretta Lynn’s. The benefit auction is up and going so just search “Stone Edler” on eBay for some of the coolest signed gear and swag. You can also contact Mike at teamsakairacing@frontier.com.
