LAKE ELSINORE, CA – Metal Mulisha founder and 2011 Lucas Off Road Racing Series Driver of the Year “The General” Brian Deegan took his familiar #1 spot on the podium this weekend at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Round 3 of the Pro Lite and Pro 2 Unlimited 2012 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.
Brian got off to a great start in Saturday’s Pro Lite race in his #38 Rockstar Energy Ford truck, moving up to the first place slot on lap 13, and holding on through the finish to take his first win of the season.
In Saturday’s Pro 2 Round Brian moved up to fourth before moving into third after a restart, and got up to second after three more laps. Brian came from behind in turn three and ultimately took first place in a dramatic final lap finish that the crowd loved.
Sunday’s Pro 2 race presented a few challenges for The 2011 Rookie of the Year. After running in the top three, Brian experienced mechanical difficulties and ultimately finished 5th. After leading the pack in Pro Lites Brian’s truck was knocked out by another driver and Brian finished the race to salvage valuable points.
"My crew did a great job this weekend, and I’m feeling great about the success we had on Saturday. It feels good to race in front of my hometown crowd and be the fastest every time we got on track. Mulisha has a lot of history at this facility, and this will be my favorite track,” stated Deegan.
