Erv Braun to be Honored in Toronto
Legends & Heroes Tour to Honor “The Voice”,
Erv Braun, at the Toronto Supercross!
March 16, 2012, Manlius, NY: Regarded as “The Voice” Supercross announcer and industry broadcast icon, Erv Braun will be honored for his contributions and accomplishments in the moto world this Saturday, March 24, 2012 during the 12th Round of the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series during the Toronto SX at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
Braun’s announcing career ran parallel with his amateur racing days in the Central New York area. As a district 3 and district 4 competitor, Erv cut his teeth on the northeast soil and soon found himself in the announcer’s booth at many of the local events announcing and getting to know the roots of the racing community.
Today, Erv is the voice of Supercross. Working the past 20 years for almost every major race promoter in the United States has given him a WIDE-ANGLE LENS on his ability to call a race and interact with the racers and fans.
Alex Moroz and Mike Owens managing partners of the Legends & heroes Tour state, “We are very pleased to honor Mr. Braun with this award. He has brought to the table a rich level of announcing to our sport. With his 20+ years experience in the announcer chair, Erv has entertained and given his analysis to the moto sport. He knows the riders, their families and the stories.
Professor Gary Bailey says “I have known Erv for so long that I forgot how long ago we met. That guy has a lot of stats in his head and still remembers most of them. Not only is Erv Braun a guy that you hear on the PA at the track, but he is always around talking to everyone, getting the stories and having a good time. Erv is a friend to many and for sure fits into another one of those good guys you like to see at the track. I think Erv and I are going to see who can be around this sport the longest (right now, I think I am winning). It’s always good to see Erv at the Supercross track each and every week”.
Erv Braun will be at the Legends & Heroes Tour Moto Museum exhibition at the
Rogers Centre in Toronto this Saturday,
March 24, 2012 at 5:15 pm for a “Meet & Greet” with the fans.
