Va. – MX Sports is pleased to announce Cometic Gasket, Inc., a leading worldwide supplier of shelf stock, custom and short-run gaskets for the performance aftermarket, original equipment, motor sports and power sports industries, as a supporter of the 3rd Annual Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross at Daytona, taking place Sunday, March 11 and Monday, March 12 in Daytona, Fla. This two-day amateur racing event follows Saturday night’s Daytona Supercross By Honda, where the fastest pro racers in the country will compete on the hollowed grounds of Daytona International Speedway.
Located 30 miles east of Cleveland in Concord, Ohio, Cometic produces and ships more than 5,000 types of gaskets to customers worldwide. As a continued supporter of Ricky Carmichael’s racing efforts, Cometic is engaging in the amateur racing market more and more each year.

Move-in for amateur racers begins at 5 p.m. Friday and takes place throughout the day Saturday. On Sunday, Amateur practice begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by Rider’s Meeting and heat races. If time permits, last chance qualifying sessions (LCQ) will begin on Sunday afternoon. Monday morning kicks off with the remainder of LCQ’s and Main Events will follow.

About Ricky Carmichael
Ricky Carmichael won 102 American Motorcycle Association (AMA) Motocross Nationals and 48 AMA Supercross main events for a record 150 major wins between 1997 and 2007. The Tallahassee, Fla., resident won 10 AMA Motocross Championships and five AMA Supercross crowns, giving him a record 15 major titles in his career. After retiring from professional motocross racing, he began pursuing a career in auto racing and was named the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Most Popular Driver. Currently, Carmichael can be found in the TV booth providing color commentary on CBS and Speed's Supercross coverage. As for motocross, he will forever be known as "the Goat," which stands for greatest of all-time.
