  • Hibbert Fastest Today at Semigorje

SEMIGORJE (Russia), – Day one of the FIM Snowcross World Championship took place today at Semigorje Technical Centre and American Tucker Hibbert obtained the fastest lap during today’s free practice with a 1.29. Reigning champion Emil Öhman achieved the best second lap time and his compatriot Adam Renheim the third one.

Arctic Cat’s Tucker Hibbert felt really comfortable during today’s free practice and he explained that he enjoyed riding the rough track at Semigorje. The 2010 FIM World Champion admitted that the track is wide and there are many opportunities to overtake the riders, so he is very confident for tomorrow and he will give his best to claim back the Title.

BRP Racing Lynx’s Emil Öhman succeeded in obtaining the best second lap time, but he admitted that they have to make some setting up improvements on his snowmobile to be able to fight for the win tomorrow. His compatriots Lynx’s Adam Renheim and Lynx’s Petter Narsa obtained the third and the fourth best time lap respectively, so Sweden is one of the clear favourites to be on the podium after tomorrow’s races.

The three-times FIM Snowcross World Champion Polaris’ Peter Eriksson was the fifth fastest rider in the track today, so he is determined to finish on the top of the rostrum and take back to Sweden the FIM World Title.

Tomorrow the day will start with one free practice, which will be followed by two qualifying races and one last chance Qualifying practice to decide which Snowcross riders will enter the main event. The best 22 riders will take part in the three main races which will decide the 2012 FIM Snowcross World Champion.

Free Practice Results: 1. Tucker Hibbert (USA, Arctic Cat), 1:29.557; 2. Emil Öhman (SWE, Lynx), 1:30.007; 3. Adam Renheim (SWE, Lynx), 1:30.187; 4. Petter Narsa (SWE, Lynx), 1:30.559; 5. Peter Eriksson (SWE, Polaris), 1:31.018.
