Dodge Race Notes: San Diego

JOSH HANSEN (No. 100 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki) Finished Fifth -
“The weekend started off great for the Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki. I had fast laps times for most of the day. I struggled through the whoops; I think everybody did. The whoops were gnarly. The track gave the riders something to separate themselves this weekend with how it was designed. The track flowed which is awesome. If the track can’t be technically gnarly at least it can flow and that’s a good thing.
“I felt like my team worked well together all weekend. We got things right with the bike and it showed tonight. I ended up fifth in the Main. I got a bad start and worked my way up. I came from way back and just dug my heels in and rode as hard as I could. I worked into the top-10 by Lap 10 and kept charging. It feels great to come out of San Diego with a top-five finish. I’m stoked. It was a great weekend for sure.”
KYLE PARTRIDGE (No. 83 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki) Finished 19th
“My Heat Race was good and I finished fourth. I went into the Main Event and started next to James (Stewart) but got hit once the gate dropped and was 20th on the first lap. I worked my way up to 15th but put the bike down on lap seven and went a lap down. Just a tough way to end what looked to be a promising night show for us.”
CAREY HART (Owner, Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki)
“We had a great night with this Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki team. We started the day with some solid practices and both riders were fast going into the night show. Both Hanny (Josh Hansen) and Kyle (Partridge) transferred into the Main and rode great in the Heat races.
“In the Main there was a lot of carnage going on. Both the guys got a rough jump out of the gate but kept their heads down and rode hard. Hanny was great. To have the start that he did and work his way up into a top-five finish is rad. It’s great to see both guys in the Main Event again this weekend.”
