Although the bikes and riders have yet to touch the dirt today in San Diego, the day’s action has already started. In the stadium, the track crew is about to get to work on a racing surface that received a dose of rain in the early morning hours. In the pits, teams are busy prepping bikes for a possible mud race to the sound of engines bumping off the rev limiter in sound check.
Tonight promises to deliver more great racing in what has already been a fantastic season. Chad Reed won here last year in the mud, while Eli Tomac topped the Lites class for the first supercross win of his career. Will history repeat itself once again?
With a wet track, cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of rain in the forecast, the stage is set for yet another tremendous night of Monster Energy AMA Supercross. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, @racerxonline, and keep checking Racer X Online for updates throughout the day.
