THE QUOTE: JOSH HANSEN
“We have some races under our belt and won’t be as uptight this weekend in Anaheim. I really like the dirt there. All I can hope for is that we don’t get any rain and just attack the course and put a good ride together.”
DODGE MOTORSPORTS/HART AND HUNTINGTON RIDER QUOTES - ANAHEIM 2
JOSH HANSEN (No. 100 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki) ANOTHER TOP 10 LAST WEEKEND IN OAKLAND; HOW DID THE RACE SHAKE DOWN FOR YOU AND WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON RETURNING TO ANAHEIM ON SATURDAY? “We made the best of it in Oakland. I rode pretty safe all day. I really never got comfortable and we couldn’t get the bike setup right. I was just off a bit. We salvaged a 10th-place finish. I wasn’t too happy about it, but we’re eighth in points and 14 out of fifth. We’re still in the running.
“I’m really looking forward to this weekend. I think this Anaheim will suit me a little better. We ran pretty good there in the season opener.”
ANOTHER GOOD START OUT OF THE GATE IN THE MAIN FOR YOU IN OAKLAND LAST WEEKEND: “Yeah. We were third and then I just started to run tight and go backwards. The track was gnarly with all the ruts and stuff. I just didn’t put it together like I needed to run in the top-five. I knew that I was a little bit sketchy on the bike and kind of backed it down to make sure we salvaged some points and stay within the top-10 in points. We need to be running in the top-five and that’s my goal this weekend.”
IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU CAN CARRY-OVER FROM ANAHEIM-1 TO ANAHEIM-2? “I think the main thing about all of this is that we broke ice and got some rounds out of the way. Anaheim-1, everyone is so stoked to ride and there is so much hype behind that race. I feel like we have some races under our belt and won’t be as uptight this weekend in Anaheim. I really like the dirt there. All that I can hope for is that we don’t get any rain and just attack the course and put a good ride together.”
KYLE PARTRIDGE (No. 83 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki) IT WAS A TOUGH RIDE FOR YOU LAST SATURDAY IN OAKLAND; HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO PINPOINT WHAT HAPPENED? “Yeah. Luckily I laid down a good lap in the first practice because I was going to do another lap, but crashed and banged my head pretty hard. It rang my bell pretty good, so I decided not to ride the second practice and rest for the second heat race. I went into the heat race, rode really strong and got a sixth-place finish. I passed some really good guys and was happy with the ride. I went into the Main Event and had a good jump out of the gate, wheelied and jacked myself heading into the first turn. I came around on the first lap and was running 15th.
“Right before the finish line I hit the double-double and the biked kicked over me. I went over the bars and the bike came over top of me and landed on me. I thought that I broke my femur. My whole leg was burning. I hit so hard that I ripped every buckle out of my boot and couldn’t ride. Not the best of weekends.”
IS THIS 450 CLASS MORE PHYSICAL THAN YOU ANTICIPATED COMING INTO THE SEASON? “I went into the season knowing what to expect because I’ve had Ivan (Tedesco) in my corner helping me. I just haven’t been able to put a full ride together in the Main Event. I’m not sure what I’m doing differently in the Main than I am in the heat race or LCQ’s. I need to figure something out. I’m not happy with it. I need to get more consistency every week and just not in one event on the weekend.”
CAN YOU CARRY ANYTHING OVER FROM ANAHEIM-1 TO ANAHEIM-2 THIS WEEKEND? “I think there is some stuff on the bike setup that we used in A-1 that we can use this weekend, things like tires and stuff just because they use the same dirt for A-2 that was used in A-1. The only difference is the track configuration. Every weekend is a new track. I really liked the track in Oakland last weekend."
