TLD Re-Signs Christian Craig
October 5, 2011, 1:15pm
Troy Lee Designs is proud to announce the multi-year signing of Christian Craig to the Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda Race Team.
Craig made an amazing comeback this year from a back injury that, by all accounts, should have been career ending. But once on the motorcycle again, Christian felt right at home and his 2011 season certainly turned some heads. After pulling several holeshots in supercross, including his first-ever main event, Christian showed that he has the speed and confidence to run at the pointy end of the pack. And on the 450 in the outdoor nationals Craig impressed even more. He was the surprise of the summer, running inside the top ten on a regular basis, until a crash at Millville sidelined him with a wrist injury. Still, it was a great debut for the young rookie.
For 2012, Christian enters the season with some experience and a lot of determination.
"I'm really excited for this year," says Craig. "Last season I learned a lot about what to expect and the things that I need to improve on. I know I have good bikes underneath me and I know I can run the pace of the leaders so I expect to be at the front. I'm focused and ready to make 2012 my year."
Team manager, Tyler Keefe, is also excited about Craig's chances next year.
"It was an easy decision for us to keep Christian," Tyler explains. He has the speed, he works hard and he wants it. Those are key components of a rider with potential to make it. Plus, he is a good kid and he fits in really well with our program. We enjoy having him around and I think he likes it here as well. We've got some good things coming together for 2012 and with Christian riding the 250 indoors and the 450 outdoors again I think we are going to have a great year."
Craig joins Cole Seely and Travis Baker on the team for 2012 as the Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda squad sets out to win their first supercross championship. See you at A1!
