Team Faith Joins KTM for 2012 AX Series
Longtime Supporters Team Faith Joins KTM for 2012 AMA Arenacross Series
AURORA, Ill. – Team Faith, one of the most well-known and well-respected teams in Arenacross, has announced it will join KTM USA in its quest for the 2012 AMA Arenacross Series title. The manufacturer will serve as a primary sponsor for Team Faith’s lineup, featuring AMA Arenacross Series veterans Kevin Johnson and Kelly Smith. Additionally, the team will partner with KTM Cycle Hutt out of Mandan, North Dakota for parts and supplies throughout the season.
"We're excited to have KTM behind us this season,” said Team Faith Founder and Manager Brian O'Rourke. "With the rule changes to the AMA Arenacross Series this season, and the implementation of all the teams having to go to the 250cc platform, KTM offers a straight-out-of-the-box package that our riders are looking forward to utilizing, to propel them to the front of the field again this season.”
Smith is no stranger to success aboard a KTM. The longtime rider gave the manufacturer its first ever win back in 2000, competing aboard a KTM 125SX machine in the AMA Motocross Championship at High Point Raceway.
"I've always liked KTM bikes and I’m really looking forward to what this season has in store for all of Team Faith,” said Smith. "I hope that between myself and Kevin Johnson, we'll be able to give KTM its first win in the Arenacross class."
Smith and Johnson will wear the number 5 and 8, respectively, on the heels of solid efforts in the AMA Arenacross Series last season. The pair of Team Faith/FLY Racing/Pilot/Flying J KTM’s will be on the line in just a few short weeks, kicking off the 2012 AMA Arenacross Series from Des Moines’ Wells Fargo Arena on October 29.
Team Faith will also continue its longstanding tradition of outreach ministry at each round of the 2012 AMA Arenacross Series.
