July 29, 2011 4:30pm
Silverthorne, CO - As the highly anticipated X-Games 17 “Enduro X” event approaches, Novik Gloves riders count the minutes until the first gate drops. Geoff Aaron, Kevin Rookstool, Gary Sutherlin, and Kenny Bartram will be representing Novik this Sunday in the first year of the new event in the program.
Geoff Aaron has been working overtime the last few months in preparation of this Sunday's race. The Geico Honda/Christini/RedBull rider has been working with Stillwell Performance on an endurocross track he made at Thunder Valley back home in Colorado, to get his suspension dialed and ready to compete for Enduro X gold. Geoff is a 10 time trials bike national champion, and recognized as one of the most talented off-road riders in the world and a specialist in Endurocross.
Kevin Rookstool has been tuning his skills on the AMA Motocross Series recently and has his sites set on an Xgames podium finish this weekend. Kevin had recently finished 16th overall at Round 8 of the AMA Motocross series at Washougal, WA and his results continue to improve. The Stillwell Performance backed rider has more of an off-road background and last year finished 8th in the AMA Endurocross Series, and is certainly a contender this weekend.
Gary Sutherlin had finished up last year in 6th position in points in the AMA Endurocross Series, and always tosses it up with the front of the pack. The Precision Concept Kawasaki backed rider has been tuning his skills on the WORCS Series recently and very excited to be part of this event.
A name the is not too often associated with off-road racing is Kenny Bartram. The “Cowboy” Kenny just found out that he would be part of the event last Friday, and can't wait to line up. The freestyle legend needs no introduction, as he is known as the winningest freestyle rider in the world. The Stillwater, OK native is a 10 time Xgames and Gravity Games Medalist, Dew Cup Champion and the list goes on. Bartram is a pioneer of freestyle MX, and extremely talented in every aspect of riding his motorcycle, and ready to try his had at this years EnduroX.
