Tune-In Alert: Catch Highlights of the
Rockstar Energy RedBud National Tonight on FUEL TV
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (July 7, 2011) - The Independence Day tradition from last Saturday's Rockstar Energy RedBud National not only signified the halfway point of the American Motocross season, but also put the abilities of the world's best riders to the test. The sixth round of the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship was a stellar showcase amongst the talented group of riders engaged in battle for the 450 Class and 250 Class titles. Fans can relive all the action tonight on FUEL TV, with a one-hour highlight show, airing at 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.
Despite the best efforts of his two closest championship rivals, TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed once again stood atop the overall podium in the 450 Class for the fourth time this summer, capturing his first win at the RedBud facility. Behind him, both Rockstar/Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey and Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto did everything they could to slow down Reed's momentum, but both riders fell short in Michigan.
In the 250 Class, the captivating battle between the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki trio of Dean Wilson, Blake Baggett and Tyla Rattray, continued. The current championship contenders laid it all on the line throughout both motos, in an effort to keep the team's current undefeated streak intact. In the end, Baggett prevailed for the fourth time in 2011, tightening up the points chase in the process.
The battles at the front of the field, in addition to the bar-banging excitement throughout each class, will be broken down and analyzed, moto-by-moto. FUEL TV will also set the stage for Round 7 of the championship, scheduled to take place next weekend with the Spring Creek Motocross National in Millville, Minn., on Saturday, July 16.
