Medford, OR - Pure domination would be the best way to describe Jessica Patterson’s overall win at the first round of the AMA Motorcycle-Superstore.com Women’s Motocross Championship at the Hangtown track in Sacramento. Jessica rocketed to two separate holeshots and two moto wins – collecting $500 in Motorcycle-Superstore.com bonuses along the way. 2009 WMX champion, Ashley Fiolek finished a solid second in front of the Honda-mounted Tarah Geiger, but obviously could not run the blazing pace Patterson was setting.

Round two at Freestone, Texas, was a different story and a reversal of fortunes as Ashley Fiolek grabbed both Motorcycle-Superstore.com holeshots and the first moto victory – and most importantly, the lead in the series. A combination of bad starts and soil sampling by Patterson netted her a 13th place finish in the first moto. She backed that up with a solid return to the top of the podium in moto two. Tarah Gieger ended the day with another pair of third place finishes – which was enough for 2nd overall on the day. Maria Balbi took advantage of Patterson’s first moto crash by finishing second behind Fiolek. She finished a solid 4th in the second moto, which gave her third overall for the day.

This weekend the series moves to the mile-high city of Denver, Colorado. Fans can expect Fiolek and Patterson to go at it tooth and nail. Ashley currently holds an eight-point lead over Patterson but they are both tied in Motorcycle-Superstore.com holeshot awards with $500 each.
