In the 250 ranks, there were no real surprises. Dean Wilson’s jersey stayed tucked in for exactly 1.2 laps, Justin Barcia’s rev limiter is seeing action, and the two fastest lap times were set by Pro Circuit riders. One rider who looks like he’s absolutely determined to pin it today is Nico Izzi, who stayed on the gas hard over several jumps even though both feet had blown off the pegs. Blake Baggett set the fastest time with a 2:12.768, followed by Tyla Rattray, (2:13.294), Darryn Durham (2:13.403) and Dean Wilson (2:13.612).

Baggett was atop the 250 class in practice.

In the premier class, Ryan Villopoto seems like he could be back on point, as he set the fastest time over Chad Reed by over a second. Mike Alessi is back racing after a suffering a concussion at Hangtown, but says his shoulder is still a bit sore. As expected, the times improved in the second session as the track broke in and more lines and ruts developed. At the close of session two, Villopoto had turned a 2:11.719, followed by Chad Reed (2:12.872), Kevin Windham (2:14.319), Mike Alessi (2:14.404) and Ryan Dungey (2.15.032).
Ryan Villopoto topped the 450 charts.
