FARMINGDALE, NJ – Bel-Ray Company, Inc. - The first weekend in June will be very busy for Bel-Ray racers, as our professional racing teams compete around the world.
The Tech 3 Moto2 team leads the way into Cataluyna for Round 5 of the 17-Round 2011 Moto2 Championship Series. The Gran Premi de Cataluyna is held at the Circuit de Cataluyna and both team riders are prepared to improve on their round 4 results. Bradley Smith was 9th in Le Mans for the French round and currently sits in 8th in the series' standings. After suffering a DNF at Round 4, Mike DiMeglio is ready to show his true speed and compete for a top finish. DiMeglio is currently 20th in the series' standings.
Down under in Australia, the Australian Superbike Championship Series resumes in Queensland. The Bel-Ray backed Yamaha Racing Team is currently in 3rd and 6th in the Supersport Class standings with Kevin Curtain and Rick Olson respectively. The team is considered a favorite for class wins in this competitive class. Bel-Ray sponsored Cube Racing takes the track in the Superbike Class with Ben Henry. Henry is currently in 10th place in the series' standings and is a consistent top finisher.
Motocross racing takes place this weekend in France for Round 5 of the MX1 World Motocross Championship Series. Bel-Ray is the official oil of the TM Factory motocross team and Estonian Tanel Leok comes to France in 12th in the overall standings. After an injury at the American round, Leok struggled to 19-12 moto finishes at the last round in Brazil. The one week break in the schedule has allowed Leok some healing time and he is looking to improve this week.
Round 1 of the Monster Energy MX National Series begins in Canada this weekend. The 9 round series crosses the country with 2 professional classes competing. The Kini / Red Bull / KTM / IMX / Bel-Ray Racing team joins the action this season with Mason Phillips in the MX1 class and Kieran Leigh in the MX2 class. Both racers are considered top riders in their classes and are looking for victories this weekend.
