Paradise Off-Road Park Grand Opening
May 17, 2011 9:20am
Paradise Off-Road Park in Macon, Georgia, has been around since the mid-1990s and was a leading motocross and off-road park for over a decade, hosting Can-Am Grand National Cross Country races as well as Regional and Area Qualifiers for the Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships at Loretta Lynn's. The popular facility was forced to close its gates in 2006 but was recently purchased by multi-time GNCC and AMA National Hare Scrambles Champion Scott Plessinger and his wife Angie, in the hopes of making it once again a top motorsports facility, with bigger and better things to come. The Grand Opening of the new Paradise Off-Road Park will take place this weekend, May 21-22, with open practice on both the motocross track as well as the cross country trail. They will also have plenty of items to hand out during both days. Practice will start at 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. each day.
Scott Plessinger will be teaming up with another former top woods racer, Steve McSwain, to offer a training facility with a complete workout room and several different styles of tracks to work with riders on. Paradise Off-Road Park will also be holding some events throughout the year, with the first event being held on July 2-3 as part of the Best in Georgia Motocross Series.
