MSR’s Whibley and Duvall Go 1 – 3 at The General

  • MSR’s Whibley and Duvall Go 1 – 3 at The General
Corona, CA-Looking for a little redemption heading to the second stop on the GNCC circuit in Washington, GA., MSR riders Paul Whibley and Thad Duvall were set to put the opening round far behind them. In what could be described as a free-for-all with the majority of the big guns trading places up front lap after lap, it was 2009 Champion Whibs taking control of the lead late in the race and never looked back. “Strang upped the pace late in the race and I had to pick it up too. I was able to get the lead at the two-lap board and just rode a steady race after that” commented Whibley.

Not to be outdone by his teammate, Thad was also one of the many riders up front and at one point even held the lead position. After dropping to second place, Bad Thad was intent on staying with the leader and looking for a way around, as running the pace was no problem. While still charging on the next to last lap, Duvall made a slight miscue stalling the bike that would drop him back to 3rd position.  “I should have done a lot better, but I had some problems in the final laps” said Duvall.

With the GNCC series taking a weekend off, look for the MSR duo of Whibley and Duvall to be back up front when the action returns at the FMF Steele Creek round in NC.
