West Region Qualifiers Ready to Head to Las Vegas
AURORA, Ill. – Following the conclusion of Sunday’s Amateur Day from the AMA Arenacross Series race in Sacramento on February 27, the first region of the 2011 Amateur National Arenacross Championship (ANAC) was set with 18 riders across 24 classes composing the West Region finalists. The ANAC pits the fastest amateurs from across the country in a day-long showdown that will ultimately crown 23 AMA National Champions.
“The Amateur National Arenacross Championship is the lifeblood of the AMA Arenacross Series,” said series director Jayme Dalsing. “Many of these riders are the future stars of the sport and this is their chance to get well-deserved recognition on a national level. The West Region produced some extremely fast riders and we’re looking forward to the completion of the other regions as the season continues.”
The 2011 Amateur National Arenacross Championship will be held on May 8 from South Point Casino in Las Vegas, just one day following the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, finale from Sam Boyd Stadium. This year marks the ANAC debut from South Point and its state-of-the-art Arena and Equestrian Center.
As the 2011 AMA Arenacross Series enters its 10th round of action this weekend in Greenville, S.C., the remaining ANAC regions will take shape over the course of the next five weeks.
