  • MXTrader.net and AJ Catanzaro Earn Season Best Finish
When MXTrader.net rider, AJ Catanzaro crossed the finish line 15th in the main at the end of the Daytona Supercross on Saturday night, it marked his best rookie season finish in Supercross Lites East competition.

“Daytona was awesome,” said young rider from Middlefield, Connecticut after the race. “The track was super rough and sandy, but still real technical, which I loved.”

Many people say that a good start is the key to a successful race, which is partly true in Catanzaro’s short Supercross career. He got a good start in his heat race and easily qualified for the main. In the main, he didn’t benefit from a good start whatsoever. In the first turn, he had connected with Nico Izzi and crashed, that put him in last position. However, the young rider got up and fought his way to 15th place.

The previous weekend at Atlanta, Catanzaro failed to qualify for the main following a first turn crash in his heat and a poor start in the LCQ. Therefore, it was an inauspicious beginning in the main at Daytona, so a 15th was a marked improvement.

MXTrader.net is proud of Catanzaro’s performance up to date in a season with tempered expectations but high hopes. In his debut race in Houston, Catanzaro showed the MX community that he can compete with the world’s best Supercross Lites racers with a 16th place finish in the main aboard a fully stock Honda CRF250. In Atlanta, despite not making the main, Rudy Schellenberger, owner of MXTrader.net, said AJ did a good job and you could see him improving lap after lap.

MXtrader.net and AJ Catanzaro will head to Indianapolis this weekend where they will endeavor to achieve a new season best finish.
