Annual Meeting Discusses 2011 AMA Pro Motocross Season
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - This past weekend, MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli, The Alliance of Action Sports, had a series of meetings with members of both the NPG (National Promoters Group) and Motocross race team management. Taking place in conjunction with the AMA Supercross Championship at the Georgia Dome, the meeting covered virtually every aspect of the upcoming 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship season and included detailed discussions on operations and series marketing.
The 2011 season marks the 40th anniversary of the AMA Pro Motocross series and to celebrate, MX Sports Pro Racing will have several significant announcements over the coming weeks, which are expected to enhance and grow the way that fans enjoy the world's most prestigious motocross championship.
"We want to first express our utmost gratitude to Feld Motor Sports for being supportive of our series and allowing this summit to commence at one of their most prestigious races of the season-and what a great race Atlanta was!" said MX Sports Vice President Davey Coombs.
"With 2011 being an important milestone for this championship series, our team, in conjunction with Alli and the NPG, is working overtime to pull out all the stops, with the goal to make sure that we fully embrace the latest technology and continue to grow the footprint of American Motocross for our athletes, our industry and especially our loyal fans. It's going to be the best season ever for motocross fans all over the world."
Founded in 1997, the NPG is an organization of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship promoters created to assist them in their efforts to work together and produce a cohesive, consistent outdoor motocross championship. Since 2009, MX Sports Pro Racing has been the managerial body of the championship, but the NPG plays an integral role in ensuring that the series continues to prosper and reach new levels of exposure.
The 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship commences on Saturday, May 21 with the Hangtown Motocross Classic from Rancho Cordova, Calif., just minutes from the state capital of Sacramento.
