OGIO Congratulates Dean Wilson on First Career Lites SX Victory
March 1, 2011 3:50pm
Bluffdale, UT – OGIO would like to congratulate Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson on his first-career AMA Supercross Lites victory in front of a near-sellout crowd of 69,517 fans inside the Georgia Dome at the second stop of the AMA Supercross Lites Eastern Region series. Adding to Wilson’s victory celebration was the monumental 200th win for the team. Wilson’s teammate Blake Baggett had a great night and ended up rounding out the podium for the second time in a row.
At the start of the main, Wilson found himself trailing the leaders for a few laps before putting on a charge and moving past Ryan Sipes, teammate Blake Baggett, and Justin Barcia for second place. Meanwhile Blake Wharton was out front until a misfortunate fall allowed Wilson, Barcia and Baggett by where it would be the final finishing order.
“I am so happy to finally get my first win,” said Wilson. “I feel like I’ve been so close and to finally win is amazing. I don’t know how else to describe it but as a dream come true. I worked really hard over the past two weeks to get my endurance back to where I was before my injury. It really came through this week since I was able to charge from an okay start.”
Congrats to Baggett as well for rounding out the podium for the second time in a row. He ran up front all night and will soon get on top of the box.
“A podium finish is always good for the points, but when I come to race, I want to win,” said Baggett. “I am motivated more than ever to make sure I am ready for this weekend in Daytona. I know I have the speed, but I just need to put it together and get a win.”
Look for Wilson and Baggett to be up front this weekend in Daytona.
