TiLUBE Racing's Matt Boni Finishes 16th in Atlanta

Advance, NC - TiLUBE Racing's Matt Boni worked his way into another main event at the Georgia Dome where he finished 16th overall. Matt Goerke was fast enough to be in the main but a crash in his heat race and a less than great start in the LCQ cost him his spot. Both riders are looking forward to racing on their home turf when the series moves to Daytona, Florida on Saturday, March 5th.
In qualifying, Goerke was the faster of the two riders. He qualified in 16th place with a 49.239 second lap time. Boni was in 21st with his best time of 49.921 seconds.
Georke raced in the first heat and was in a qualifying position when he had a nasty crash in the whoops section. He ended up finishing in 14th place. Boni was in heat two and qualified for the main in the last transfer spot in ninth.
In the LCQ race, Goerke finished in 6th overall, which would not make the cut for the main event.
"The team is making progress, both riders are working hard and our results will improve. Goerke is showing great improvement in the past two races. We are all looking forward to racing in Daytona," commented Tony Wenck - TiLube Racing Team Manager
After eight rounds of the 2011 Monster Energy Supercross Series, Matt Boni is in 18th place overall in the standings.
The TiLUBE Racing team's next race is Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, Florida. The SX and SX Lites supercross races will be televised live on March 5th at 8:00 pm ET on SPEED and then repeat again at 11 pm. The races will be repeated the following day March 6th at 4:30 pm ET.
