Advance, NC - The TiLUBE Racing team scored another top fifteen main event finish in front of a packed Angel Stadium with over 45,000 fans at the pink-themed "Breast Cancer Awareness" at the second Anaheim Supercross Race. The TiLUBE Racing team did their part to support the cause with riders and bikes sporting pink accents. Matt Boni once again rode a strong race finishing 13th overall.
In the week leading up to the race the team put in a ton of working on the bikes' suspension and motor. Rivas qualified in 20th place with a best lap time of 59.682 seconds. Boni qualified in 22nd place with a best lap time of 59.933 seconds.
Both TiLUBE riders raced in the first 450 heat race, Boni finished just inside the nine transfer positions with his 8th place finish. Rivas was not in a transfer spot with his 12th place finish.
Rivas advanced to the LCQ and was running in 4th place when the rider in front of him crashed and Rivas crashed into him. Rivas was injured and unable to continue the race.
Boni had worked on his starts all week and it showed in his start this week, he was close to the front of the pack but got pushed wide. He still was able to salvage an 8th place spot which he maintained until he caught a tuff block on his foot peg moving him back to 14th. He moved ahead one spot to finish in 13th overall.
"We accomplished quite a bit this week as a team. I was able to get more comfortable with the bike and the settings are excellent. This was my best start so far this season and I know that I can run inside the top ten in a highly competitive class," commented team rider Matt Boni.
