Freestone County Raceway Schedule Updates
For Immediate Release:
Wortham, Texas - The 11th Annual Honda of Houston/FMF AMA Texas Winter Series is entering it's second decade of racing in 2011. Since 2006, the AMA Texas Winter Series has been the largest, richest series in the Lone Star state. Last year series saw riders from 33 different states and two countries represented.
For 2011, the series will visit Freestone, Oakhill and Village Creek, each being two weeks apart. The last round will visit Freestone for the final round and will also serve as the Warm-Up for the AMA Spring Championship.
New for 2011 is a couple classes including a Girls Jr 65cc 7-11 class. The 150F has a new home in the Girls Sr 85-150F class. The traditional 50, 65, 85, 250, 450 classes will be at each round along with the Women's Pro and 11 different Vet classes. Additionally, factory contingency from Cobra, Honda, Kawsaki, KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha will be at all four rounds.
It's always fun this time of the year to see riders with their new bikes, new gear and new sponsors. The only question will be who has the speed and discipline? The series has been known for some of the toughest conditions and tracks in Texas, requiring each and every rider to be mentally sharp and ready. On New Years weekend, we will find out as the gate drops for Round 1 at Freestone County Raceway on January 1-2.
