Cypress California, October 5, 2010 - Yamaha Motor Corporation., USA would like to congratulate Charlie Mullins and his AmPro / Obermeyer Racing Team on their amazing 2010 AMA National Enduro Championship.
A newcomer to the National Enduro series, Mullins looked nothing like a rookie, winning an amazing 6 out of the 10 races. Riding under the watchful eye of AmPro Team Owner and seven-time AMA National Enduro Champion Randy Hawkins, Charlie and his 2009 YZ450F knew they had what it would take to bring home the championship.
"When you combine the talents of Charlie Mullins with the resources of Randy Hawkins and Dale Stegal you have the makings of a champion! I am proud of everyone on the AmPro Team, Charlie and everyone at Yamaha and am happy to be part of the team" said Keith Obermeyer of Obermeyer Yamaha regarding Mullins inspirational championship.
Seven-time National Enduro Champion and AmPro Team Owner Randy Hawkins couldn’t have been happier adding Mullin’s title to his team’s list of accomplishments. "Helping Charlie win his first National Enduro Championship was lot of fun, plus Charlie road like a champ all year. This is also a testament of the AmPro-Yamaha Team’s ability to build a National Championship winning program. I know in the future we will give other riders there first Championship. In all of this AmPro-Yamaha couldn't had a better partner than Obermeyer Yamaha to make this happen".
"Being part of a rider’s first National Championship is very memorable" said Donnie Luce, Yamaha’s Off Road Coordinator, "but seeing Charlie’s name added to the Yamaha history book alongside Randy Hawkins makes it even that much more special for the entire AmPro/Obermeyer Team and for the many sponsors that were so vital to the success of this team."
When asked about his championship winning season Mullins responded, "The support I received from Obermeyer and the AmPro team has made this year truly fantastic, and I am really proud to bring home the championship for Yamaha".
Now with one title under his belt Mullins will focus on the remaining rounds of the 2010 GNCC Series where he already has 3 race wins and is looking for more.
