Montreal, Canada – The Royal Distributing/Dragon Fuels/Thor/KTM Canada Factory Racing Team is excited to announce its team line-up for the upcoming Montreal Supercross/EnduroCross event to be held on October 2, 2010.
While the current Royal Distributing/KTM Team members have been struck by injury there will certainly not be a shortage of riders fighting for the win aboard their KTM motorcycles at the Montreal Supercross.
In the MX1 class the KTM Factory Team will consist of Mike Brown, Michael Willard and Phil Nicoletti. Brown is a current member of the FMF/KTM Factory Off-Road Racing Team in the United States and is the reigning WORCS Champion and a former 125 Motocross National Champion. Brown will be racing aboard the KTM 450 SX-F.
Willard, who won the first ever 50cc Championship for KTM back in his mini-cycle days is said to have more amateur race wins on a KTM than any other rider in history. Willard will return to his orange roots aboard the KTM 350 SX-F for the Montreal Supercross.
Joining Willard on the 350 SX-F is Nicoletti who will be racing in the premiere class for the first time in his pro career. "I have witnessed the development of the 350 SX-F over the past year and am excited to race this bike in my first premiere class race. I feel the bike will be perfect on the Supercross style track," remarked Nicoletti. The New York native just recently wrapped up the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series of which he spent the final four rounds as a member of the FMF/KTM Factory Motocross Team effort.
In the MX2 class, KTM will be represented by two of KTM’s finest support riders Jeremy Medaglia and Kaven Benoit. Both Megaglia and Benoit participated in the Canadian Motocross Lites Championship where they finished 3rd and 4th overall respectively. Both riders are also excited to represent their country in the Motocross des Nations race on September 25th in Lakewood, CO.
This marks the second year that the Montreal Supercross will also feature an EnduroCross event. Last year’s Champion, Kornèl Nèmeth, will return aboard his KTM to defend his title against the rest of the field, including Mike Brown. A current competitor in the AMA EnduroCross Series, Brown is excited to take part in the Canadian EnduroCross event. He commented, "I am excited that EnduroCross is growing and more promoters are including it into their events. I think the Montreal crowd will love this type of racing – hopefully I can help put on a good show."
