Team Puerto Rico MXoN Team Announced
Gabriel Catala, Team Manager joins with Professor Gary Bailey, Assistant Team Manager and Coach in announcing the 2010 Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations Team for Puerto Rico on behalf of FMPR (Federacion de Motociclismo de Puerto Rico).  The team will be Christian Ruiz (MX1), Zach Osborne (MX2), and Kyle Regal (MX3).

Team Riders:
MX1: Christian Ruiz

Christian Ruiz will be riding a Merge Racing Honda 450.  He is regarded as a strong rider in Puerto Rico. Ruiz is the 2009 Puerto Rican 450 National Champion and is leading the points in the Puerto Rican 250 National Championship.  He is anxious to show his talent on an international stage. Ruiz is also sponsored by Planet Honda of Puerto Rico.

MX2: Zach Osborne
Zach Osborne will be riding a Yamaha 250. Osborne is America’s top world championship motocross racer. He finished 5th in the Grand Prix of Brazil and moved to the top five of the FIM series.  Osborne has taken three GP podiums in 2010 and currently leads the 2010 MX2 Maxxis British Championship. Osborne’s current sponsors include Bike It, Cosworth, Yamaha, Yamalube, Wild Wolf Energy Drink, Utag, UFO, Brenmar, Arai, TCX Boots, La Tooling, Michelin, Armstrong Disc Pads, Triple S Chains, Filtrex Oil Filters, Renthal, Langcourt Cylinder Plating and YMT Technologies.

MX3: Kyle Regal
Merge Racing backed Kyle Regal will be riding a Merge Racing Honda 450. Regal has amassed an impressive five overall top ten finishes so far this year in the Lucas Oil Outdoor Nationals.  Regal is working hard for his current sponsors Merge Racing Technologies, American Honda, Honda Pro Oils and Chemicals, Fly Racing, WPS, ARMA, Jo Jo’s Clothing, FMF, Oakley, Pirelli Tires, Acerbis, Arai, Gaerne, N-Style, Image 1, Renthal, Twin Air, Sunstar, Hammerhead and QTM.

ARMA Energy has stepped up to assist the team and will provide trackside support for the team.  Wonder Warthog Racing will also provide support for the team.  Additional team support is being provided by Mech-Tech College of Puerto Rico.

Team Manager: Gabriel "Gabby" Catala

"We are excited about the riders we have selected this year to represent the United States Territory of Puerto Rico and feel that the team will be a contender this year, " says Catala. "Coming off of recent wins in Europe, Zach Osborne brings a track record of proven success to the team.  We selected Kyle Regal because we were impressed with the spirit he has shown this season. Christian Ruiz is a strong rider well respected in Puerto Rico and will proudly carry the Puerto Rican flag for his home country.

Assistant Team Manager and Team Coach: Professor Gary Bailey

"I am excited to coach the team again this year," states Bailey. "I started working with the team several years ago as a result of my work building tracks and teaching motocross in Puerto Rico over the last decade. The people of Puerto Rico have always been so enthusiastic about the sport of motocross that it is an honor to help represent this team. When we had the Travis Pastrana MX Challenge in Puerto Rico a few years ago featuring Travis and the Nitro Circus gang, entire families from grandparents to infants turned out for the event."

"As we go to battle at the FIM Motocross of Nations, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many soldiers from Puerto Rico that proudly serve alongside our soldiers in the United States military, especially those Puerto Rican soldiers that have given their lives fighting terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan.  In the spirit of such unity, I hope that my fellow Americans will join in cheering on Team Puerto Rico along with Team USA, of course"
