RG3 Tops the Podium in Moto X Freestyle
Anaheim, CA – RG3 Suspension came into X Games with high hopes of earning a few pieces of X Games hardware and that’s exactly what happened. RG3 backed riders Travis Pastrana and Levi Sherwood produced the two highest scoring runs and managed to capture gold and silver medals.
TP199 captured the X Games 16 Moto X Freestyle gold medal with his creative line selection, racing of the course, and literally flipping anything that was in his way: ramps, dirt hits, and three feet tall mounds that weren’t meant to be flipped. Pastrana managed to secure his gold medal after his second run. However, in his third and final run, which was a pure glory, TP199 pumped up the crowd and then hit the 50-foot gap and stomped the double backflip without hesitation. This is the second time in Travis’ career that he has stomped the double flip at X Games.
Be sure to look for Travis Pastrana later on this week at X Games 16, as he will be competing in Speed & Style, Rally Racing, and Rally Car.
X Games rookie, Levi Sherwood, made sure everybody knew who he was by the end of the day. Sherwood, who is a two-time Red Bull X-Fighters winner, showed up for what is considered the biggest FMX competition in the world and almost won himself a gold medal. Sherwood let his riding do the talking as he produced almost non-human extension on his tricks, making people wonder if the New Zealand native even had a spine. Levi would put in three mind-blowing runs, but would fall only two points short of knocking TP199 off the top spot. Sherwood’s silver medal ain only his first-ever X Games appearance is proof that this kid is for real and a serious force to be reckoned with in the future!
