  • Rockstar Makita Suzuki Looking Forward to High Point National

-Ryan Dungey and Matt Moss are set to race at the High Point National in Mt. Morris, PA.
-Dungey is entering High Point riding a wave of momentum after finishing with commanding leads in both motos at Freestone.
-The RM-Z450 was unstoppable with Dungey aboard last weekend, despite the sweltering heat in Texas.

Brea, Calif. – The Rockstar Makita Suzuki squad has been training hard this week in preparation for the upcoming High Point National in Mt. Morris, PA. The team is aiming for a repeat of last week's success at Freestone, where 2010 AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey lead the 450 class by a large margin in both motos aboard his fuel-injected 2010 RM-Z450, and took the overall win.

The Freestone National saw Dungey and his RM-Z back in top form, and the pair showed Motocross fans everywhere that they're capable of winning more than just Supercross races. In the first moto Ryan immediately shot to the front of the pack thanks to the power and quick throttle response of his fuel-injected RM-Z450, and quickly made the pass for the lead. Ryan went on to take the win in the first moto by a whopping 27 seconds, and repeated his stellar performance in the second moto with another commanding lead at the finish.

Dungey is looking forward to racing the challenging track at High Point. “It’s a long season so we all have to prepare for the ups and the downs and try and not get too high or too low,” Dungey said. “High Point is in the middle of an East Coast swing of tracks that will challenge all of us. Consistency will be a key.”

Dungey’s teammate Matt Moss has been at the track improving his lap times and still working through the wrist injury that sidelined him from the Supercross season. “I think this weekend at High Point will be good,” Moss said. “I have seen the track and it’s the sort of track I like, so I can’t wait to get there and get a good result.”

Austin Stroupe, who is slated to compete in the 250 class, continues to recover from a shoulder injury suffered during the Supercross season, and will soon be back on his bike and practicing.

The High Point National will take place on June 12th at High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris, PA. The 450-class motos will be broadcast live on NBC starting a 3:00 P.M. EST on Saturday. You can also catch the 250-class on SPEED at 6:00 EST Saturday night, or on Sunday at 2:00 P.M. EST.
