Top Ten Finishes for Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki Riders in Kamloops

Huntington, TX - The Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki team entered the first round of the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals with high expectations. Josh Demuth and Troy Adams rode to top ten finishes despite some falls and bike setup problems. Adams finished eighth overall and Demuth followed in tenth.

The spectators at the Whispering Pines Raceway in Kamloops, BC were greeted by some great weather and even better racing. Adams and Demuth didn't get great starts in the first moto but entered the first turn in the top ten. However, Demuth tangled with another rider in the third turn and went down pushing him to the back of the pack in last place. Demuth was riding aggressive and smooth, and eventually worked his way into seventh position but another fall pushed him back to twelfth at the end of the moto. Adams rode a consistent race to finish in eighth.

Both Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki riders ended the first lap of the second moto in the top ten with Adams in ninth and Demuth in tenth. They each passed some riders in the early laps and Demuth eventually passed his teammate. Unfortunately for Adams, he over jumped one of the obstacles and jammed the wrist that he injured in the Supercross series. Despite the pain, he soldiered on for a few laps dropping back to twelfth. He eventually regained some feeling in the wrist and charged back to finish in tenth position as Demuth finished the moto in eighth.


"Troy and Josh had a little bad luck this weekend so the results weren't quite what we wanted," said team owner Billy Whitley. "However, everyone came away healthy and we made some progress in the second motos. I expect us to do much better in the next few rounds and I'm just really excited to be racing again."

The Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki Racing Team will travel to Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, AB on June 13, 2009 for round two of the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals.
