Albertson In for Glen Helen USGP
After several months racing in Europe, American Jimmy Albertson is headed back home this week and is anticipating competing in the upcoming USGP at Glen Helen. There was plenty of speculation as to whether or not the Martin Honda-supported Albertson would be able to race after suffering a dislocated shoulder at the GP of Spain, but after some rest and rehab, Albertson said he’s ready to go.
“I just wanted to let everyone know out there that I will be lining up at the USGP,” says Albertson, who currently sits sixteenth in the MX1 points. “After dislocating my shoulder I thought there would be no way that I would have the strength to race, but I was lucky that the severity of the injury was low. I have been over in Europe for five and a half months, so to have the USGP is a great little homecoming for me. It feels great to be back in the USA and I'm very excited about racing Glen Helen. Glen Helen has always been one of my favorite tracks so it should be good!”
Tickets for the USGP at Glen Helen are available at the www.glenhelen.com, as well as at participating local Yamaha dealers.
