TiLube Dallas Report

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - In Dallas this past weekend, 48000+ fans came out to watch the first ever Supercross in Cowboys Stadium when the 11th round of the 17 race Monster Energy AMA Supercross series came to town. With temperatures in the 30’s and snow falling, everyone was happy to be inside the all-new $1.2b stadium. Needless to say, the new retractable roof would not be opened this evening!

Wey started the night out well in the first heat with a great start and solid, consistent laps. Despite a few challenges from other riders, Wey held his position and qualified third for the Supercross main event.

As the gate dropped for the main event, Wey charged into the first turn and came out with his second holeshot of the season. As the first lap came to an end, he was battling with several riders for the fourth position. On the fourth lap a few riders collided in front of Wey, who was already committed to jumping, and with no way to avoid the down motorcycles, he crashed also. Fortunately, Wey was unhurt and remounted in 16th. With fifteen laps remaining he rode his bent Kawasaki 450 as fast as he could in an effort to regain as many positions as possible. Wey went on to finish 12th.

After the race Wey commented “I had a great heat race that had me confident going into the main. My TiLUBE Brown Motorsports, Foremost Babbitt’s Kawasaki got me off to an awesome start. I was making some passes and moving forward before I got tangled up with a couple of other riders. I rode well catching back up but I'm disappointed with my result because I was riding good all day. I'm going to work on the little things that cost me spots early in the main during my week of training. I can't wait to get to Jacksonville and battle it out!”

Next weekend the series travels East to Jacksonville, Fla. for the twelfth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series. Be sure to stop by the TiLUBE-Brown Motorsports truck to show your support and to have your picture taken with Nick Wey from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm. See you there!
