Trey Canard Places Third at Toronto Supercross

Toronto, Canada – In front of an energized crowd of 42,083 fans, Trey Canard took home a 3rd place finish for the second week in a row in the tenth round of the 2010 AMA Supercross Series at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Canard earned a place on the podium for the Honda Red Bull Racing team for the third consecutive time in on Saturday. Canard recorded a 5th place time in qualifying, and 3rd place in the second heat race. In the 20-lap main event, however, Canard powered his Red Bull Honda to a huge start and motored in front of the rest of the field to take the Spike Holeshot award for first time ever in the Supercross class. Canard continued to show confidence and skill on the big bike, battling it out with the leaders to maintain another top-three finish.
A GEICO Powersports Honda West Coast Lites rider for the 2010 season, Canard is filling in for the injured Andrew Short in the Supercross class for several races until West Lites action returns on April 24th in Seattle. “It was a good weekend once again, I’m just so thankful to Honda Red Bull Racing and GEICO Powersports Honda” said Canard. “I’ve never raced this many races in a row before and the travel is a little tiring, but it’s been a great opportunity for me – and I’m definitely looking forward to getting back on the Lites bike in April.”
Trey Canard will head to the new Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, TX on March 20th for the eleventh round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series and his fifth race in the Supercross class. After only four races, he stands in 15th place in points in the Supercross class with 63 points. He also maintains second place in overall West Lites class points (121), a position he will defend upon return to Lites competition.
