Thor/Parts Unlimited: Thor TV in Atlanta
March 1, 2010 2:36pm
The Georgia Dome is consistently one of the most exciting stops on the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series, and this past weekend was no exception. Almost 70,000 fans packed the Dome to cheer on their favorite riders, and take in a terrific night of action on the track.
Off the track, that excitement carried over to the return of Thor TV. Not only did some of the top names from SX and MX stop by, but Thor TV was also excited to welcome NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion, Ron Hornaday. Hornaday, as many of you may know, has been racing with Ricky Carmichael on the NASCAR Truck Series circuit, and Saturday he came out to Atlanta to show his support for SX and his teammate, Ricky Carmichael, who got the race started with the opening parade lap. You can watch the video of Ron Hornaday, who shared the Thor TV stage with Tim Ferry by clicking on the photo below.
The marquee guest of the evening was Monster Energy Kawasaki and Thor rider Ryan Villopoto. Ryan let us in on some of thoughts on the season thus far, and how he is planning on attacking the second half of the season.
On the track in Atlanta, Thor and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki riders Christophe Pourcel and Dean Wilson had great performances in the second round of the East Coast Lites class. Dean set the pace by leading the first nine laps in the main event, but Christophe would not be denied his second win of the season. Dean continued to push, and finished the evening with a very respectable fourth place finish in only his second professional race.
More will be coming this week on Thor TV from Atlanta, along with information and video from Daytona Bike Week. To stay current, make sure you follow “Thor MX – Official Page” on Facebook.
