Corona, Calif. – Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki is looking to leave California with one final win before the West Coast riders take a hiatus and the Supercross Lites Eastern Region season picks up. Jake Weimer is hoping to extend his West Coast points lead before the series takes a nine-week break while Josh Hansen is looking to get on the podium at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.

Weimer can’t wait to get back to Angel Stadium after winning five of the last six races there. The Idaho native has claimed four wins in five starts this season, and now that he has built a sizable advantage in the points, he is going to be smart with his decisions on the track.

“I think I can get another win at Angel Stadium,” said Weimer. “I’m more than capable, but with my points lead it is important for me to be smart like I was in San Diego. It’s always cool to be the fastest guy on the track, but it’s more important to win the championship.”

While Weimer make take a more conservative approach into the third Anaheim event, Josh Hansen will have the throttle wide-open looking for his win of the season. Hansen has looked to get better each weekend and has shown at every race this year he has the speed to be on the top step of the box.

“I want to win in Anaheim this week,” said Hansen. “I going to move forward and think positive. San Diego was a muddy event and the track was slippery so you can’t base yourself on that race.  I want to improve every weekend so I’m going to step it up.”

After Saturday’s event, both Weimer and Hansen will have a break until their season resumes in Seattle on April 24. While the West Coast riders take a little break, Christophe Pourcel will look to defend his AMA Supercross East Region title and lead the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team on the East Coast. Pourcel will face stiff competition from his teammates Tyla Rattray and Dean Wilson.
