  • Team MXdesignz.com/Shea Racing and Teddy Parks Make 450 Debut
Anaheim, Calif. (January 12, 2010) - At the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season opener this past Saturday, most riders had switched teams and programs making for an interesting showdown. Team MXdesignz.com/Shea Racing is one of the teams that made a change. It expanded its program this season beyond the Lites Class to compete in the premier 450 Supercross class led by 20 year-old Teddy Parks. The rookie 450 rider showed in his FLY Racing gear that he is deserving of being in the class.

Parks qualified for the night program in sixth in his practice group on his Kawasaki KX450F, learning to make some adjustments both to the bike and his lines on the track. He was set for heat number one where he got a 15th place start. Battling with established stars and veterans, Parks hung in there to finish 15th. That's only six places out of the transfer spot-a solid feat for a privateer rookie. Heading into the LCQ, Parks needed to focus on getting a great start and vying for one of the two transfer spots. Again, Parks finished in 15th place learning from each lap.

"Teddy did awesome in qualifying and showed that he does have the speed to be in the premier class," said Tim Shea, team manager. "He wasn't too far off the pace in the heat race. Now we know where we stand and where we can make improvements. We have all the confidence in Teddy that he can make a main event, and most importantly we have the resources behind us in our sponsors to keep pushing forward. Phoenix is next and we are on our way!"

Look for Parks to improve in his second 450 Supercross race this Saturday, January 16 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. Be sure to stop by the Team MXdesignz.com/Shea Racing pit to meet Parks and check out some of the MXdesignz graffiti-inspired apparel. The team's transporter will be next to the Warthog Racing rig.
