  • Monster Energy Athletes Buckle Up for Celebrity Kart Race
CORONA, Calif., (Jan. 11, 2009) – Some of the world’s top action sport and motorsport athletes – including a number of familiar Monster Energy-backed rippers - face off tomorrow, Jan. 12th,  at Pole Position Raceway in Corona (Calif.) for the 2nd annual Monster Energy Extreme Indoor Kart Challenge.

Former Supercross, Supercross Lites and Outdoor National champions, Monster Energy’s Jeremy “Showtime” McGrath and Grant Langston, head up a field of karting enthusiasts that also includes MX greats Andrew Short, Wil Hahn, Nathan Ramsey, David Pingree, Ben Evans, FMXers Kyle Loza (Monster Energy), Mike Metzger, Todd Potter and Kenny Bartram, Monster Energy’s AMA Supermoto Lite champ Brandon Currie, top BMXer Allan Cooke, champion jet skier Victor Sheldon, Monster Energy-backed mini MX racer Thomas Covington, TORC series racers Johnny Greaves (Monster Energy), Kyle and Todd Leduc, Monster Energy’s personal watercraft racing legend Craig Warner, and Source Interlink Media publisher Sean Finley among others.

“We dial up the karts in and turn these guys loose – the end result is a blast to watch,” said Ken Faught of Pole Position Raceway. “I’m sure our kart mechanics aren’t really looking forward to the Monster Energy Extreme Indoor Kart Challenge as much as the fans are. We tend to let these guys go for blood and wad up a few karts in the process.”

Faught added that there’ll be several special surprise guests announced in the next 24 hours. For more information check out www.PolePositionRaceway.com. The event is sponsored by Monster Energy, Corona Motorsports, Dirt Alliance, Race Tech and ZLT.

Monster Energy supports the scene. Be it karts, insane distance jumping, snocross, SX, surfing, BMX, pit bikes, MX, mountain bikes, PWC racing, off road, rally, MotoGP, road racing, supermoto, FMX, skate, rock crawling, wake, surf, snow – name it – seems athletes and bands are rockin' Monster Energy more than anything these days. Check out the types - Original Monster Energy, Lo-Carb Monster, Monster Assault, Monster's fruit juice hybrids dubbed Monster Khaos, Monster M-80 and Monster MIXXD, the ground-breaking Java Monster and X-Presso Monster premium coffee & cream drink line supercharged with Monster Energy's blend, 3 oz. Monster Hitman Energy Shooters, Monster Import, and the new nitrous oxide injected Nitrous Monster. Everyone at Pole Position Raceway are diggin’ ‘em – so will you.
