  • Connecticut State Police Recover Stolen Items From Unadilla Thefts

MORGANTOWN, W.V. - Unadilla Valley Sports Center and MX Sports Pro Racing, in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police, are pleased to announce an arrest in the recent theft case that occurred during the Unadilla Retro Motocross National.

On Wednesday August 26, 2009 about 2:30 P.M. State Police Troop D Danielson received information that racing equipment was stolen from the Unadilla event on or about August 14, 2009 and that equipment and bikes might be located at 660 Upper Maple Street in the town of Danielson, Conn.

State troopers from the Killingly Resident Troopers Office, Troop D Danielson, along with detectives from the State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded to the above address and located the racing dirt bikes, racing equipment and parts valued at approximately $30,000. Troopers and detectives also located a racing mountain bike that was valued at $4,000. A subsequent investigation then led to the recovery of an additional stolen dirt bike that was valued at $20,000. In total, the state troopers and detectives recovered approximately $50,000 in stolen property.

Through the hard working and dedicated efforts of Connecticut State Troopers - Troop D Danielson, including Eastern District Major Crime, The Killing Resident State Troopers Office and the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force, almost all of the stolen racing equipment was taken into protected custody and an arrest was made.

Because this is an ongoing and active investigation, no further details are presently available.
