Southwick Fundraiser Supports Doug Henry
Bolton, MA - Daily gourmet lunches including Bruce’s famous Pulled Pork sandwich and the affordable Combo Take-Home BBQ dinners make Great Brook Farms (356 Main Street Bolton, MA. 978.779.6680) a worthwhile destination and a delight for even the toughest BBQ connoisseurs. The introduction of Whoopdeque Barbecue as part of Great Brook Farms is inspired by owner, Bruce Slater, and combines his two passions in life – motocross and barbecue. Bruce has been racing motocross in New England since 1976 and is very nostalgic about old school racing. After attending the Motocross of Nations at Budds Creek and seeing the array of food available he was inspired to serve his BBQ at the races. After vending the New England Regional in ’08 in New Hampshire, Whoopdeque Barbecue will now be served at other motocross events across New England including the Southwick National.
Part of Bruce’s mission is to give diversity to track cuisine and also give something back to the motocross community, so he has decided to help our own National hero, Doug Henry and family by donating a percentage of every combo meal sold at Southwick to Doug Henry directly. Whoopdeque will offer BBQ combination dinners including pulled pork sandwiches, ribs smothered in Bruce's BBQ sauce, baked beans, coleslaw, and cornbread that will melt in your mouth. The combination plates include a beverage. In the next few months, Whoopdeque BBQ will be bottling their BBQ sauce and it will be available at Great Brook Farms, at the races, and online. Come on by the Whoopdeque booth at the Southwick Nationals on August 28 & 29, 2009 for some great BBQ and to support a great cause!
