The three riders who will represent the United States in Italy at the 2009 Motocross of Nations were announced today:
MX1: Ryan Dungey, who will begin riding a 450 immediately after Steel City. Ryan raced a 450 at the 2008 Minneapolis Supercross and finished 2nd in the main event.
MX2: Jake Weimer. Heading into this weekend Weimer sat fifth in the 250 points standings as the top American rider behind Dungey. Jake has two wins so far this season and just finished 3rd in moto 1 at Unadilla.
MX3: Ivan Tedesco. Tedesco is the only active American 450 rider with an overall win this motocross season. Ivan is a former supercross and motocross champion in the 250 class and was a member of the winning Motocross of Nations team in 2006.
