Aurora, Ill (July 31 ,2009) – Miss Arenacross and women’s amateur motocross competitor Lindsey Scheltema raced her way into a spot at the 2009 Air Nautiques Amateur National Motocross Championship which will be held at the legendary Loretta Lynn’s track in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., August 3-4.
In 2009, Scheltema of Byron Center, Mich., was awarded the exclusive opportunity to become Miss Arenacross for the widely popular AMA Arenacross series. Scheltema campaigned her way through the Mid-East region qualifiers. The first step in the battle to race at Loretta Lynn’s is to place within the top eight from each respective class at an area qualifier. The final step in advancing to the Loretta Lynn’s showdown is placing in the top seven at a regional qualifier. Scheltema did just that.
Competing in a hard-fought battle at the Log Road area qualifier, Scheltema finished 1-1 in the Women’s 14+ Class. With no interruptions in her rhythm, Scheltema increased her chances of earning a position to race for the National Championship.
Following the area qualifier, with virtually no intentions of missing an opportunity to compete at Loretta Lynn’s, Scheltema’s consistent riding skills on the track complemented phenomenal 1-1-1 finishes at the regional qualifier of Millfield, Ohio.
Scheltema’s efforts earned her a position on the starting lineup for the 2009 Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s. “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to race at nationals”, said Scheltema. “It’s a big race that requires an increased level of focus and I’m riding into it with a positive attitude”.
With the important race approaching, Scheltema’s regular training routine has significantly changed and is explicitly correlated around the reality of riding alongside other top competitors looking to claim that number one spot. “I have been upping my training habits by increasing my riding time, exercise routines and competing in a few WMA races. I’m determined and feel I’m ready to take on this race”.
Scheltema’s astonishing achievements in motocross has harmonized her ability to inspire and prevail in the midst of vital points in her career. The Amateur National Motocross Championship held at Loretta Lynn’s of Hurricane Hills, Tenn., will take place August 3-4.
