  • Nick Wey Tops Boost/ampm/Monster/Troy-JLaw Racing Effort

CARLSBAD, Calif. –  Nick Wey (Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing) continues to charge hard on the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA MX Nationals tour, this past weekend at Millville (Minn.) knocking down two top ten moto finishes (8th/9th) to score an overall season-best 8th place finish in the premier 450 class.

Wey, who’s lone career MX National win came at Millville in the 125cc class in ’98, pulled an 11th place start in the first moto, then charged back from a 16th place start in the second moto to gain a top ten position and secure his second-straight top ten finish (9th at RedBud the previous race).

“Two of my favorite tracks, back-to-back … feelin’ it,” said Wey.

Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing’s rookie 250 class racer, Max Anstie, raced to a top ten second moto (10th) to salvage a 12th place overall finish (14th/10th).

After seven of 12 Lucas Oil AMA MX Nationals rounds Wey is in 11th place in the overall standings with 126 points, just one point behind Justin Brayton for a 450 class top ten spot. Anstie is in 16th place with 83 points in the 250 class.

Next up for the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team is this the July 18th Spring Creek MX National in Millville, Minn.

Generous sponsors of the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team include: 2XL, ONE Industries, FMF, Motul, Pro Taper, Filtron, Dunlop, Enzo, Spy Optic, JMJE, RK Racing Chain, CSI Construction, Dasa, CP Pistons, Acerbis, Leatt Brace, Sunline, SixSixOne and Yamaha.
